South Carolina-based musician and producer Contour (aka Khari Lucas) released his EP Weight back in 2020, comprising of four tracks that combine elements of jazz, trip-hop and indie for a wonderfully unique sound. Lucas has just dropped a performance video for two tracks, 'Pour', and 'Lies', lifted from Weight. The first track performed is 'Lies'; it begins with a fast and skippy drum loop, followed by contrastingly mellow piano chords that sway like tree branches in the wind. Contour plays a smooth bass line and sings with a similar ease, resting in a relaxed soulfulness, and embellished with spacey delay and reverb. The video embraces the one-man-band element, the screen scattered with four squares that show Lucas' playing of each instrument.
